MOSCOW, January 28 (RAPSI) - Football club Lokomotiv has filed a 144-million-ruble ($2.3 million) lawsuit against its ex-president and CEO of the team Ilya Gerkus, according to the Moscow Commercial Court’s database.

Details of the commercial dispute have not been disclosed.

Earlier, new managers of Lokomotiv announced that an audit conducted in the club revealed major financial shortcoming.

FC Lokomotiv was established in July 1922. The club has thrice been Russian champions and won numerous silver and bronze medals of the championship. Lokomotiv won the Russian Cup eight times, and the Russian Supercup three times, the FC’s website reads.

Gerkus was appointed as the club’s president in the summer of 2016. Later, he became the FC’s CEO and was on this post till December 2018.
