MOSCOW, July 31 (RAPSI) – Prosecutors have approved indictment against Alexander Avdeyev charged with killing an abbot of the Holy Trinity Danilov monastery in Russia’s Yaroslavl Region in 2016 and robbery, the press service of Russia’s Prosecutor General’s Office reports.
The case has been forwarded to the Yaroslavl Regional Court for consideration, the statement reads.
According to case papers, in the summer of 2016, ex-monastery worker Avdeyev acting from mercenary motives knifed abbot Daniil 25 times in body, head and neck that resulted in the victim’s death. The defendant took the abbot’s money and left the crime scene.
