MOSCOW, November 30 (RAPSI) – The Central District Court in Russia’s Komsomolsk-on-Amur sentenced a local man who had given his two kids up at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo Airport to 15 years in penal colony, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reports Monday.
The man was found guilty of child endangerment and theft.
Investigators claimed that from January 24 to 25, 2020, he stole 100,000 rubles ($1,300) from his acquaintance woman using a mobile application of one of the banks.
On January 26, his two sons born 2011 and 2014 were found in the Sheremetyevo airport’s building. Their documents and the father’s letter containing a request to temporarily place the children in an orphanage because of his financial problems were found in the minors’ bags.
According to investigators, the boys’ father departed for the town of Rostov. Several days later, the man surrendered to law enforcement.
