MOSCOW, October 26 (RAPSI) – The Moscow City Court on Tuesday upheld sentence given to Pussy Riot member Maria Alyokhina in a case over abetting violation of sanitary rules at an unauthorized rally held in Moscow in winter, the court’s press service told RAPSI.
In September, she was restricted of freedom for one year and banned from leaving her permanent place of residence from 10 pm to 6 am, changing place of living without notifying authorized bodies, leaving Moscow, and participating in mass events.
Earlier, several Navalny’s allies, including Lyubov Sobol, his brother Oleg and spokesperson Kira Yarmysh were convicted in the case.
According to the Interior Ministry, coronavirus-positive persons ordered to isolation were identified among the rally participants. A criminal case over violation of sanitary and epidemiological rules was opened over this fact.
