MOSCOW, September 28 - RAPSI. During its plenary meeting on Friday, the State Duma adopted in the third reading a government-proposed law specifying requirements for organizing and holding gambling activities.
Pursuant to the document, the bank guarantee term for organizing and holding gambling activities in a bookmaker's office or a betting house may not be less than five years. The term was set at one year in the text of the draft adopted in the first reading.
The guarantee is extended within the entire license term and cannot be revoked. The amount is defined in a corresponding contract and cannot be less than 500 million rubles ($16.16 million).
A number of requirements will be set for gambling institutions. Among other issues, they include the location and the area of these institutions, the number of required gambling tables and machines, the premises required for accepting, giving, and storing funds, the premises required for their security teams, uniform accounting procedures, bet processing, and calculating win amounts.
A provision prohibiting casinos and gambling institutions from operating in sports and fitness centers was added to the draft law in the second reading.
