MOSCOW, February 11 - RAPSI. The Russian government has approved a bill drafted by the Federal Migration Service (FMS) that would require migrant workers to register with the tax authorities within three days of their arrival in the country, a statement posted on the Russian government's official web portal says.
The bill is aimed at improving the existing scheme of registering labor migrants with tax agency. Labor migrants who need work permits at short notice must register with the tax authorities within three days of arriving in Russia.
"The execution of this bill will not require funding from the federal or regional budgets. It will help ensure that foreign nationals and stateless persons register with tax agency and will also monitor the extension of migrants licenses," the statement says.
