MOSCOW, March 6 - RAPSI. Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has approved a government program to fight drug trafficking.
The document, which was posted on the government's website on Wednesday, was drafted by the Federal Drug Control Service to maximize efforts to quash drug-related crimes and to coordinate this work in the regions.
The program focuses in particular on fighting against drug abuse by young people. It looks to create jobs, promote quality leisure activities and develop social infrastructure.
The program will also expand educational, cultural and sports measures aimed at personal development and at encouraging a healthy lifestyle. Additionally, a sub-program on creating an anti-drug media environment will be drafted and implemented.
The Federal Drug Control Service also plans to be involved in the development of a national system of social rehabilitation and re-socialization.
