MOSCOW, October 1 (RAPSI) – The Federal Migration Service has developed a draft law which may introduce permanent work permissions for immigrants in Russia, Izvestia newspaper reported on Thursday.
Currently issued permissions are active for three months and at the end of each term immigrant’s employers have to notify the regional Migration Service if they wish to prolong the permission. Employers who don’t notify the Migration Service have to pay fines estimating $7,700.
According to the bill, the Service plans to stop registering the planned terms of stay for immigrants.
