MOSCOW, September 30 (RAPSI) – Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a bill on tax benefits for victims of terrorist attacks and natural disasters into law. The document’s version has been published on the official website of legal information.
The initiative was drafted in the fulfillment of the order of President Vladimir Putin. Amendments are proposed by the government to the Tax Code of the Russian Federation.
Thus, under the law, terrorism and emergency victims would not pay personal income taxes for proceeds received in material and natural forms and financial benefit including debt release. Moreover, their family members would be exempt from paying taxes for welfare assistance.
The incomes would be exempt from taxation despite their sources.
The document is retroactive and will touch victims of natural disasters occurred since the start of 2019.
