MOSCOW, March 12 - RAPSI. Over 400,000 text message notifications have been sent to debtors in the first two months of 2013, the Federal Bailiff Service told RIA Novosti on Tuesday.
The service said that since 2012 text message notifications have been sent to people who owe up to 100,000 rubles ($3,250).
"During the first two months of 2013, we sent 414,000 text messages to debtors," a representative of the bailiff service said. He added that last year they sent text messages regarding over 3.7 million court enforcement actions worth 72.5 billion rubles ($2.4 billion).
"By texting debtors, we brought 440,000 enforcement actions worth over 2.2 billion rubles ($71.5 million) to a close. Of these, 339,400 actions were actually executed," the official said.
