MOSCOW, November 13 (RAPSI) - The Federal Antimonopoly Agency (FAS) has fined Yandex.Taxi 100,000 rubles ($1,500) for a small print in its advertisement, the watchdog’s statement reads.
According to the FAS, from mid-March to May, the company advertised its services in several Russian cities including Kursk, Petrozavodsk, Stavropol, Pyatigorsk, Ivanovo, Cherepovets and Murmansk. A part of the ads’ text was published in an unreadable print.
The antimonopoly agency held that a substantial part of the advertisement was published in a fine print; therefore, customers had misperception of the services’ cost.
In September, the watchdog found Yandex.Taxi guilty of distributing misinforming advertisement and issued the company an instruction to stop the violation.
