MOSCOW, August 31 (RAPSI) – Since the beginning of July, 3,800 fake news about the State Duma and regional election campaign have been revealed on the Internet, according to a member of Russia’s Civic Chamber Commission on Development of Information Community, Mass Media, and Mass Communications, Director of the Internet Safety League Yekaterina Mizulina. 

Certain mass media and accounts disseminate these fakes, she said during a presentation on Tuesday. The fakes are promoted through bot farms another information advance technologies used in social media, she stated.

According to the Civic Chamber’s member, the fakes revealed are produced in foreign states, including Ukraine, Poland and Latvia.
