MOSCOW, January 28 (RAPSI) – A court in the town of Stavropol has sentenced two defendants in a criminal case over 252 million rubles ($4 million) embezzlement during the construction of Vostochny Cosmodrome facilities to 5 and 6 years in prison, the press-service of the Prosecutor General’s Office informs on Tuesday.
According to the court ruling, the defendants embezzled the funds allocated for construction of a structure for missile fuel components storage in November and December 2015. As a result, the statement reads, the subcontract obligations undertaken by the defendants had remained partially unfulfilled.
Both persons were additionally fined 250,000 rubles ($4,000 at the present exchange rate).
