MOSCOW, December 3 (RAPSI) - The Blagoveshchensk City Court in Russia’s Amur Region has sentenced the head manager of Krasnoyarsk’s company USIO Dmitry Vishnevsky, to 11 years in prison for embezzlement of more than 980 million rubles (over $15 million) from budget funds allocated for the construction of Vostochny Cosmodrome, the press service of the Prosecutor General’s Office reports.
Additionally, he has been fined 900,000 rubles ($14,000). Moreover, the court has ordered recovery of 660 million rubles from him upon a prosecutor’s civil claim and over 300 million rubles on a civil lawsuit of the Defense Ministry, the statement reads.
According to the indictment, from February 2012 to May 2014, Vishnevsky embezzled the funds allocated for the construction of the Cosmodrome’s facilities, construction and reconstruction of objects in the Novosibirsk Region.
