MOSCOW, September 17 (RAPSI) – The Moscow Commercial Court has dismissed a 144-million-ruble ($2 million) damage claim filed by the football club Lokomotiv against its ex-president and CEO of the team Ilya Gerkus, RAPSI has learnt from the court.
Previously, the court put the claim on hold. The lawsuit was executed with violations, the court has held.
On January 28, Gerkus wrote on social media that he denied all claims.
Earlier, new managers of Lokomotiv announced that an audit conducted in the club revealed major financial shortcoming.
FC Lokomotiv was established in July 1922. The club has thrice been Russian champions and won numerous silver and bronze medals of the championship. Lokomotiv won the Russian Cup eight times, and the Russian Supercup three times, the FC’s website reads.
Gerkus was appointed as the club’s president in the summer of 2016. Later, he became the FC’s CEO and was on this post till December 2018.
