MOSCOW, October 14 (RAPSI) – Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin on Wednesday signed an order on distance learning for pupils in grades 6-11 amid the coronavirus spread.
From October 19, children in grades 1-5 will return to schools after holidays. Elder pupils will be studied online for the next couple of weeks. According to Sobyanin’s statement, senior school goers are more subject at risk of being infected with COVID-19.
The city administrator believes such a decision will decrease an epidemiological load on schools due to the dispersion of children in-building and minimazing of contacts between minors.
Moreover, between October 19 and November 1, Moscow government-run further education establishments and infant recreational organizations will suspend their work. Private childrens’ organizations are recommended to pause work too.
