MOSCOW, July 5 (RAPSI) – Briton Aiden Aslin, who had been ordered to death along with two other foreign citizens in the Donetsk People’s Republic, challenged his sentence.
A cassation appeal filed by Aslin has reached the Supreme Court of DPR, a statement published on the highest instance’s website reads.
Earlier, another British man Shaun Pinner and Moroccan Brahim Saadun also convicted in the case lodged similar appeals.
In early June, the judicial panel of the Supreme Court’s Appeals Chamber of the self-proclaimed republic considered a criminal case against the men and found them guilty of mercenary activities, violent coup, committing a crime by a group of people in conspiracy and training with the aim to conduct terrorist activity.
On the totality of the committed crimes, they were sentenced to death.
