Russia's response to Magnitsky Act

The U.S. Senate passed the Magnitsky Act, a bill imposing visa sanctions against those Russians who - in the view of the US government - have been involved in human rights violations. Considering it as an 'extremely unfriendly move', Russia vowed to take retaliatory measures.

Duma retaliates against US with adoption ban, NGO restrictions, blacklist

MOSCOW, December 21 - RAPSI. In retaliation for the US Magnitsky Act, the Russian State Duma adopted the Dima Yakovlev Act in the third reading today, a bill that takes aim at the US by imposing a series of dramatic sanctions.
